I know they do a credit check, but I dont have credit history since I dont have a card. I have prepaid with T-mobile, and I want to change to a monthly plan. I’m 19 and I plan on paying for it in the store every month, because I dont have a checking account or credit card. Will I still be rejected or is there some way around this? I cant imagine I’m the only person without credit history who needs a cell phone.

You could begin your credit line with a new account, but you’ll probably have to put down a deposit. The amounts range per carrier. Sprint/Nextel has one of the lowest deposits around.
You can also start a Boost account which is pre-paid, no contract, but you can choose a monthly plan. This only means that you have to pay for your monthly plan before you can use the service.

yeah you will most likley get rejected unless you put a few hundred down but that is a good way to start a good credit history.
