I am planning to get rid of my home phone. I need a cell phone plan that will allow me to call my family in Canada from the US and for them to be able to call me for a reasonable rate. I am not interested in Skype or other similar companies, this must be a cell phone plan.

Depending on your loaction, cingular may or may not have stores in your area, but they do offer a canada package that you can add onto your cell phone plan. i have taken text directly from their site to give you a little idea of what they offer. check it out and see what you think. standard rate plans start at 39.99 a month. you do have to be a customer for 90 days before they will let you add it on though. if you have excellent credit, you can request them to add it earlier.
